The Role --------

The RoleVEIR is seeking a Senior Low Voltage Solutions Engineer - Data Center to help us transform power delivery in the world's largest data centers. This individual will work directly with VEIR's data center customers to evaluate how to best match VEIR's hardware capabilities to emerging power delivery bottlenecks within data centers. We're looking for someone who is excited to challenge conventional practices and communicate their value of superconducting solutions in a wide range of data center contexts. In this role, you will help foster VEIR's business relationships, market strategies, and collaborative partnerships. As a member of VEIR's Product Team, you'll also help our engineering experts design products that have the highest impact solving data center bottlenecks.

Product Team Overview --------------------

The Product Team is responsible for overseeing the requirements, development and lifecycle of VEIR's superconducting products. Through close collaboration with our commercial and engineering groups, the Product Team ensures that the products developed meet the customers' needs and align with VEIR's business goals.

Product Development Process ---------------------------

The Team determines which product features are most valuable and impactful by evaluating factors such as the voice of the customer, market trends, technical feasibility and addressable segment size.

Responsibilities ----------------

### Short-Term Goals (First 3 Months)

Develop a deep understanding of VEIR's technology and how it can be deployed in data center applications. Refine and streamline how VEIR articulates the value proposition for our solution for data center customers. Create single-line diagrams for VEIR's system integration test environment, a flagship deployment for demonstrating the value our systems offer to customers. Conduct a competitive analysis comparing VEIR's solutions to conventional alternatives. Provide customer support for Level 2 and Level 3 customer engagements.

### Mid-Term Goals (First 6 Months)

Develop and model reference designs for VEIR's solutions within data centers, with partners and industry experts. Identify and specify the equipment that VEIR will interface with in reference designs and propose their settings.

### Long-Term Goals (By the End of Your First Year)

Collaborate with VEIR's engineering teams to develop customer-facing documentation, commissioning procedures, installation guides, and user manuals. Support the certification process for integrating VEIR's systems into data center applications according to industry standards. Develop detailed system designs for early pilot implementations. Analyze and assist in simulating potential fault conditions and mitigation strategies. Work closely with external engineering and contractor partners to finalize construction documents for early pilot projects.

Requirements ------------

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in designing and/or delivering data center power delivery solutions at low and/or medium voltage.
  • Hands-on experience evaluating competing hardware solutions for transferring and/or delivering power within large-scale data centers.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA110, UL, CSA, ANSI, IEC) that will apply to VEIR's products.
  • A bachelors or masters degree from an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering program (Power Systems preferred).
  • A detailed understanding of uninterruptible power sources, diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives and automatic/static transfer switches with the ability to design one-line diagrams.
  • Familiarity with power distribution equipment and the ability to analyze single-line diagrams, electrical protection schemes, and transfer controls.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and electrical modeling tools like ETAP or Cyme.
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work autonomously, with limited direction, and collaboratively across different departments, stakeholders, and customers to launch new products and continuously evaluate the performance of existing products.
  • Driven by results, with a positive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to manage a diverse set of opinions, advice, and recommendations and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Highly curious and solutions-oriented, with the ability to deconstruct complex problems into manageable components to develop effective solutions.
  • Commitment to VEIR's mission and goals, and adoption of our core values.

Compensation ------------

VEIR is committed to equal pay for equal work in its compensation practices. The base salary range for this position in the U.S. is $145,000 - $175,000 per year + equity + benefits.
