- 10+ Years IT experience with system engineering, system administration and operations (Linux preferred).
- Experience technically administering RedHat 8 and Windows 2022 Servers.
- Extensive experience managing and implementing cloud services (AWS preferred).
- Experience with Cloudformation and managing Infrastructure as code.
- Perform hands-on infrastructure changes, such as modifying subnets, routing tables, firewall/security group rules, IAM policies, DNS records, or certificates.
- Experience using configuration management, automation, or scripting tools such as Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, PowerShell, Bash, Python, or AWS CLI.
- Experience monitoring, logging, and alerting tools are currently used for cloud infrastructure, operating systems, application availability, and security events Splunk, AWS Cloudwatch, AWS CloudTrail, custom scripts, email alerting.
- Experience in managing projects – creating project plans, providing levels of effort, executing and tracking project progress, conducting customer reviews, and coordinating with program management.
- Have a basic understanding of how to troubleshoot JAVA issues with web applications, pull logs, work with developers to resolve issues, troubleshoot issues with application connecting to database backend. Work with developers and other admins to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Perform sys admin related deployments, configuration changes, patching, and updates to systems. Will create tickets, assign to team, review solutions, approve for release to customer for final approval.
- Ability to explain solutions, problems, details of systems, understanding of system architecture, and technical understanding of operating systems, web applications, etc.
- Experience managing and delegating tasks with team members.
Current CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
- Possess at least one certification from major DoW approved cloud service providers (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
- Direct experience with container operations, including Docker image management, container deployment, vulnerability scanning.
- Troubleshooting issues with Proxy communication, Tomcat web servers, network or application latency, server operating system issues, and ensuring team is tracking issues and not letting anything go unresolved.
- Knowledge of Financial systems or processes.
- Experience in managing system administration and project planning.
- Experience working in Agile environments and managing software and infrastructure using DevSecOps processes.
- Experience with DoD cybersecurity framework and best practices - RMF, STIGs, POA&M.
- Experience with Government or Defense contracts.
- Experience with common release tracking software (JIRA, Confluence).

Provide technical leadership in managing a group of system administrators and operations support engineers. Tasks include managing cloud system operations in development, testing, government testing, and government production environments, as well as integrating new systems into the AWS cloud infrastructure and managing the end-to-end project lifecycle. The role will be pivotal in interacting with Government stakeholders, leading system operations and integration efforts, and ensuring successful project completion on time and within scope. Basically, this is a technical position, but we are looking for someone that has team lead and project management experience.
Our customer does expect someone that is hands on technically, so not looking for a strictly management background. They need to have a system engineering/admin background in managing operating systems and AWS infrastructure to be successful in this position.
