You will have a high degree of autonomy and be relied upon to provide support and informal leadership to contractors, maintenance, technicians, and project teams. As a system owner/expert for automation/control systems, you will be part of the internal engineering team that supports the operations and will be influential in creating a strategic vision for the future.Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!Your Responsibilities Provide technical support and troubleshooting of existing electrical and automation systems (PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, sensors/instruments, valves/motors)Program and troubleshoot primarily Allen-Bradley PLC based control systemsMaintain documentation for lab control systemsDesign and develop PLC based control systems for new lab facilty projectsCollaborate with Facilities Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, and Operations teams to support lab operations and minimize downtimeSupport testing, commissioning, and startup of new lab facility projectsProvide coaching/training to technicians, maintenance staff, and test engineers at the test laboratoryReview electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications for new projects and facility upgradesCoordinate with contractors and vendors on electrical work and service interruptions related to control system upgrades or maintenanceSupport capital projects, renovations, and expansions by providing automation engineering input and field oversightAssist with preventative maintenance programs and reliability improvementsParticipate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for controls and/or electrical failuresSystem Maintenance Ensure existing electrical and automation systems are properly maintainedAnalyze the current electrical and automation systems and install base to ensure continued maintainability and support; develop a digital roadmap or masterplan where necessaryProject Management & Execution Conduct estimation, and execution of medium to large scale electrical/automation projectsDevelop and implement project descriptions, plans, timelines, resource requirements, costs, etc.Interface with vendors and contractorsOversee installations and verify compliance with applicable standardsResponsibility for electrical and automation portions of projectsStrategy & Mentorship Share expertise and provide training to build the competencies of electrical and automation skills to peers and lower-level employeesDevelop electrical and automation strategies for facility expansions and ongoing supportYour Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training and experienceMinimum of 6 years' experience working with industrial or manufacturing electrical systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematicsHands-on troubleshooting of automation and electrical systemsStrong communication and collaboration skillsRockwell Automation ControlLogix programming experienceYour Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting facilities or utilities in a manufacturing and/or testing environmentExperience managing or overseeing electrical contractorsLabVIEW Programming experienceYour Benefits Multiple medical insurance plan options + dental and vision insurance401K retirement plan with employer matchPaid time off and company paid holidaysPaid sick time in accordance with the federal, state and local lawTuition Reimbursement after 6 months of continuous serviceWork visa sponsorship is not available for this position.The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $90,400 - $151,800 (plus a 10% bonus) in Minnesota.
