Required Experience and Skills
Experience in one or more of the following areas: • TDOT design standards • ITS design • Traffic Operations Studies • Safety Studies
Basic understanding of the use of traffic analysis tools, such as: • VISSIM • CORSIM • SynchroSim • Traffic
Experience, familiarity with: • Microstation • Synchro • VISSIM • Sidra
Basic understanding of the application of traffic operations principles, including: • ITE MUTCD • AASHTO • State DOT requirements, policies, manuals, and procedures
Education and Certifications
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university • U.S. Drivers License • Tennessee PE (Professional Engineer) certification • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering (PTOE) • TDOT or local TN project experience
Technical Skills
• Experience using Microstation • Proficiency in ArcGIS • Understanding and familiarity with MUTCD and DOT Design Guidelines and Standards • Nashville DOT and Tennessee DOT proficiency • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including: • Word • Excel • PowerPoint
Transportation Design Experience
• Experience with MicroStation
