The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Senior IT Business Analyst for a 6-month consulting opportunity supporting a leading university environment in Boston, MA. This is a high-impact hybrid role supporting enterprise technology initiatives, system integrations, infrastructure projects, and cross-functional business transformation efforts.

Not open to C2C or third party agencies.  No Visa sponsorship for this role. 

This position is ideal for a strategic and hands-on Business Analyst who thrives in complex IT environments and enjoys partnering with both technical and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, sustainable technology solutions.
What You’ll Do Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements
  • Analyze current-state business processes, systems, and workflows to identify improvement opportunities
  • Translate business needs into detailed specifications, user stories, and technical requirements
  • Develop business process documentation, workflow diagrams, systems maps, and data flow documentation
Systems Integration & Solution Design
  • Lead initiatives involving:
    • APIs
    • Middleware
    • System integrations
    • Data exchanges between platforms and vendors
  • Facilitate solution design sessions with cross-functional teams
  • Ensure infrastructure, security, and integration considerations are incorporated into solution planning
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to align solutions with enterprise architecture standards
Project Support & Implementation
  • Participate in vendor evaluations, RFP processes, and implementation planning
  • Support QA and UAT activities including:
    • Test case development
    • Validation testing
    • Workflow verification
  • Monitor post-implementation performance and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in driving project timelines, stakeholder communication, and issue resolution
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to BA best practices, standards, and documentation frameworks
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, project teams, and external vendors
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of IT Business Analysis experience in complex enterprise environments
  • Strong experience gathering and documenting:
    • Business requirements
    • Functional requirements
    • Technical requirements
  • Experience supporting enterprise system integrations and cross-functional technology initiatives
  • Strong understanding of:
    • APIs
    • Middleware
    • Data integration concepts
    • Enterprise applications
  • Experience collaborating with infrastructure, engineering, and security teams
  • Ability to create:
    • Process maps
    • Workflow diagrams
    • Data flow documentation
    • User stories
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience supporting QA/UAT testing activities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education or large enterprise environments
  • Experience with enterprise architecture and infrastructure initiatives
  • Exposure to vendor management and RFP processes
  • Experience mentoring junior Business Analysts
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies
