The ideal candidate will support the design, implementation, and modernization of communication infrastructures across both inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) environments. This includes fiber and copper cabling, network transport systems, RF and voice/data communication paths, power integration, and all supporting architecture.

You will review and approve engineering documentation, develop communication system designs, lead field teams, and ensure compliance with U.S. Army and industry communication standards. Your work will help deliver secure, resilient, high‑performance communication solutions that enhance mission readiness across Army OCONUS locations.

CACI is committed to modernizing and standardizing the Army’s communication architecture. If you’re driven to innovate, solve complex communication challenges, and support national security, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the survey, design, and implementation of communication‑related ISP/OSP infrastructure, including fiber and copper plants, pathways, power integration (with licensed electricians), patch panels, and system diagrams.

  • Support communication system modernization projects of varying size and complexity, including preliminary development of the SPRIP.

  • Conduct and oversee site surveys, documenting current communication configurations and designing optimized ISP/OSP and transport architectures.

  • Approve SDPs and Final RIP documents, ensuring compliance with Army communication requirements, NEC standards, and industry best practices.

  • Support development of IUID Marking Plans and procurement documentation (LOM).

  • Lead and supervise deployment teams across survey, installation, testing, and QA activities, including all pre‑implementation coordination.

  • Approve engineering implementation plans, system drawings, and communication infrastructure layouts; perform quality checks and enforce safe work practices.

  • Identify and resolve complex communication engineering issues; oversee system pre‑tests and acceptance testing.

  • Ensure communication system installations align with safety standards, environmental conditions, and operational needs.

  • Provide technical subject‑matter expertise across multiple projects, supporting communication architecture decisions and modernization efforts.

  • Optimize communication system resources, scalability, and performance.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of communication system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Prepare system performance reports, issue tracking summaries, and recommendations for enhancements.

  • Troubleshoot complex communication problems and collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams.

  • Provide daily supervision, guidance, and technical leadership to ISP/OSP and communication engineering staff.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active Secret security clearance is required

  • Technical BA/BS degree; Master’s preferred (equivalent experience accepted)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desired:

  • Experience in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical communication environment
