This is a hybrid opportunity based in Sacramento, CA, featuring an exceptional four-day work week for most of the year with two days onsite and two days remote.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Senior Institutional Giving Officer to cultivate institutional funders, drive grant strategy, and help grow a thriving philanthropy program. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, cultivate, and steward relationships with major institutional funders and foundation partners.
  • Lead the development of compelling grant proposals, reports, and funding strategies that support organizational growth.
  • Mentor and support grants professionals while helping strengthen fundraising systems and internal processes.
  • Identify and cultivate new institutional funding opportunities to expand philanthropic revenue.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, finance, policy, and program teams to develop strategic funding initiatives and ensure grant compliance.
  • Contribute to annual fundraising strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term institutional giving goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated success securing and managing institutional grants and foundation partnerships.
  • Experience leading the full grant lifecycle, from prospect research through proposal development, stewardship, and reporting.
  • Strong relationship management, writing, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or leading fundraising or grants professionals.
  • Passion for mission-driven work and advancing meaningful social or environmental impact.
