(ZAI) is seeking two (2) dynamic and strategic Senior Information Specialists to lead collection development efforts while enhancing visibility and engagement through marketing and social media initiatives. This role blends traditional librarianship with modern outreach, ensuring collections remain relevant, accessible, and responsive to evolving user needs.
Position Overview The Senior Information Specialist plays a critical role in shaping information resources, promoting services, and connecting diverse audiences to information through both in-person and digital platforms. This position supports the NIC Information Center and collaborates across teams to deliver high-impact services, training, and outreach.
Key Responsibilities Oversee NIC Information Center services, including support for classroom events and specialized instructional presentations
Collaborate on training initiatives and outreach programs
Develop promotional materials, including newsletters, presentations, and digital content
Manage electronic resources (e-resources), monitor usage, and analyze data to inform decisions
Maintain vendor licenses and support vendor negotiations in coordination with leadership
Lead collection development, evaluation, and management of print and digital resources
Oversee cataloging, acquisitions, weeding, and circulation; delegate tasks among Information Specialists
Analyze usage data, trends, and user feedback to guide collection strategy
Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote collections, services, and programs
Stay current on trends in publishing, information access, and digital engagement
Provide advanced research and reference support
Required Qualifications Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or related field from an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited institution
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in library technologies, including: Integrated Library Systems (ILS), preferably open-source Electronic resource management (ERM) Virtual reference/help desk systems Experience analyzing databases, datasets, and usage statistics
Strong writing and editing skills
Excellent customer service and collaboration skills
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications Background in criminal justice or corrections
Experience in computer science, programming, or systems integration
