Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician – Distribution Automation (Nampa, ID)

What a day looks like

You arrive to the distribution center, open the CMMS, and scan your work queue. A conveyor sensor fault, a forklift charging issue, and an HVAC alert all compete for attention. You triage based on safety and business impact, grab the right parts, and get to work. You observe each system for proper operation, repair what’s needed, and communicate the plan with stakeholders. Throughout the shift, you log every minute and part into the CMMS to keep inventory and man-hour reporting accurate. You follow vendor procedures, lockout/tagout without exception, respect Arc Flash boundaries, and coach teammates along the way. Before you wrap, you pitch in on general facility tasks so the building, grounds, and equipment stay safe and productive for everyone.

Core responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, professional service so distribution center assets stay reliable and the workplace remains safe for team members, vendors, and visitors.
  • Capture time and parts in the CMMS to preserve accurate inventory and labor records.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across site assets, including conveyors, forklifts and other powered equipment, industrial batteries, dock levelers and doors, racking, lighting, and HVAC systems.
  • Continuously observe machine operation for safe and proper performance; repair and communicate findings and actions taken.
  • Execute work per vendor specifications while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Prioritize tasks based on business need and potential impact.
  • Share knowledge and mentor others to strengthen the team’s capabilities.
  • Maintain full compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Arc Flash guidelines at all times.
  • Assist with other general maintenance tasks as assigned.

Required qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in a fast-paced industrial or warehouse environment servicing powered equipment with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components (preferred).
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or on-the-job training in mechanical, electrical, welding, and HVAC controls.
  • Professional certifications: Trade/technical certifications related to facility maintenance are a plus. MHE certification or specialized training preferred. Extensive field experience may be considered equivalent.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Read and interpret service manuals, assembly drawings, and schematics (print or digital).
  • Comfortable using basic computer applications to research, document, and navigate CMMS tasks.

Working conditions

  • Operate in a physical environment with temperature extremes, moving mobile/fixed equipment, potential exposure to hazardous products, dust, and other warehouse-related conditions.
  • Expect varying temperatures, noise levels, and air quality.
