Kforce has a client seeking a remote Senior Incident Response Engineer to support a high-visibility infrastructure team focused on strengthening incident response and operational excellence. This role plays a critical part in managing incidents, driving timely resolution, and communicating directly with executive leadership. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage incident response efforts, including triage, escalation, and resolution coordination
  • Communicate incident status, business impact, and outcomes to senior leadership, including VP stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and incident management platforms
  • Produce clear, structured executive summaries and final incident reports
  • Ensure reporting includes business impact, root cause, resolution, and recommendations
  • Support and improve post-incident review (PIR) and postmortem processes
  • Drive continuous improvement in incident response and problem management practices
Automation & Process Improvement:
  • Automate prompts to initiate tools such as Microsoft Copilot for recording and transcription at incident start
  • Streamline data extraction processes to support efficient PIR documentation and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools to enhance incident response workflows

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in senior-level incident management within enterprise environments
  • Strong knowledge of problem records, post-incident reviews (PIR), and postmortems
  • Proficiency with collaboration and incident tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and incident management platforms (OPTIC preferred)
  • Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or Claude in operational workflows
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into business-focused language
  • Proven ability to produce executive-level reporting and communicate with senior stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple incidents simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of ITIL frameworks and incident management best practices
  • Experience in large enterprise or infrastructure-focused environments
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret incident data and summarize outcomes

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
