DPP is seeking a Senior IBM MQ Administrator (z/OS Mainframe) for an opportunity with our client in the healthcare insurance industry.
 
Work location: Partial onsite (onsite Tues., Wed., Thurs., and as needed is highly preferred)
Hours: Standard 8 AM – 4:30 PM Mon. – Fri. Overtime, on call, weekends as needed after training
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2 contract
Work authorization: Candidates must be eligible to earn a low-level (Public Trust)  US security clearance.
 
Position summary:
  • Resolving test and production issues that arise
  • Working on customer requests such as creating a new queues, queue manager & changing queue depth
  • Working on a multitude of projects ranging from installing the latest release of MQ to configuring MQ on servers. (NOTE: Currently working with MQ version 9.3)
  • Working with error reports and handling multiple tasks at the same time
  • Internal monitoring such as checking queue depth 
Required technologies:
  • JCL
  • Mainframe/host experience
  • IBM z/OS MQ mainframe
  • Experience creating and maintaining a queue manager and queues (required!)
Nice to have:
  • CICS (desired)
  • IBM WebSphere MQ (desired)
  • COBOL (desired)
  • Unix and zLinux (nice to have) 
Minimum required work experience:
  • 6 years of IT work experience including varied systems programming experience. 
Required education/equivalencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
  • OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
  • OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 10 years without a degree)
