Hi, we're the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. Yes, we’re a foodbank and collect and distribute an impressive amount of food, but that’s not all. We’re also a group of passionate individuals dedicated to exploring new ideas to tackle tough social issues from food insecurity to poverty to health as a whole. So when life happens, we're here for our neighbors that need us.
The Senior Hunger Program Specialist provides accurate and timely customer service and administrative support for the Senior Box program called the Commodities and Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), helping ensure eligible older adults receive consistent food assistance. Key responsibilities include responding to participant questions by phone, text, and email; processing applications and renewals in line with federal guidelines; entering and maintaining CSFP data across tracking tools; producing monthly participation statistics in required formats; and supporting trend review to improve service and delivery outcomes.
Required qualifications/skills include:
You’ll start by reviewing participant messages and prioritizing time-sensitive items, then update shared spreadsheets and tracking systems so records are current. Midday often includes coordinating details for the onsite third-party monthly delivery—confirming counts, preparing check-in materials, and keeping documentation ready for reporting. During Amazon Flex delivery week, you’ll help with prep, set-up, and smooth flow on-site, troubleshooting customer questions as they arise. You’ll wrap up by reconciling notes, organizing follow-ups, and ensuring the month’s participation information is clean and ready for submission.
If you're organized, service-minded, and ready to support seniors through CSFP, we encourage you to apply.
