Wills Eye Hospital is hiring a Senior Human Resources Business Partner, Suburban Physician Network & ASC Operations in the Greater Philadelphia area. In this role, you’ll serve as a key partner to Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) clinical leadership and suburban network physician practices across the Philadelphia region. This is a Full-Time 40 hour per week opportunity for someone who wants toprovide comprehensive, hands-on HR support with a strong emphasis on employee relations, including training and resolving workplace concerns, coaching managers, and ensuring consistent application of HR policies and practices.

In this role, you’ll support the Director of HR Operations & Strategy while helping deliver high-quality service to our clinical leadership teams. You’ll support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment coordination, onboarding, performance management, and compliance. In addition to core generalist responsibilities, this role contributes to targeted human capital analysis, workforce planning, and special projects focused on improving operational efficiency within ASC locations, including the modernization of manual HR processes through the use of HRIS and payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Serves as the primary HR contact for ASC and suburban physician practice locations, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices. 

  • Triages, investigates, and resolves employee relations issues in a timely and consistent manner, escalating complex matters as appropriate. 

  • Coaches managers and supervisors on performance issues, corrective actions, documentation, and employee engagement strategies. 

  • Partners with operational and clinical leadership, including ASC and Physician Practice Administrators, to support workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and team performance across both ambulatory surgery center and clinic-based operations. 

  • Collaborates with outsourced recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) partners and hiring managers to support recruitment efforts, including workforce needs assessment and candidate evaluation. 

  • Coordinates with HR Coordinator to ensure smooth onboarding processes and compliance with pre-employment and regulatory requirements. 

  • Interfaces with Benefits Manager and other HR shared services to address employee inquiries, escalations, and service delivery needs. 

  • Assists in analyzing workforce data, including turnover, staffing trends, and engagement metrics, to identify opportunities for improvement, particularly within ASC operations. 

  • Leads and supports special projects related to ASC operations, including initiatives to modernize and streamline manual HR processes through the implementation and optimization of HRIS and payroll systems. 

  • Supports the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives across assigned client groups. 

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as organizational policies and accreditation requirements. 

  • Maintains accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. 

  • Responds to internal and external HR related inquiries, providing appropriate guidance or directing matters to the appropriate HR resource. 

  • Provides cross coverage for other Human Resources Business Partners as needed, ensuring continuity of HR support across assigned client groups. 

  • Participates in additional projects and HR initiatives as assigned by HR leadership. 

  • Upholds the confidentiality of sensitive information and ensures proper handling of all employee related data.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. 

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential required. 

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience required, with demonstrated experience independently managing employee relations matters. 

  • Proven ability to operate in a highly autonomous role, managing multiple priorities and client groups with minimal oversight. 

  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. 

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with leadership, influence decision making, and provide practical HR guidance in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret workforce data and translate insights into actionable recommendations. 

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to travel regularly to ASC and suburban physician practice locations throughout the Philadelphia region. 

  • Valid driver’s license required. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Prior experience in a healthcare, ambulatory, or physician practice environment preferred. 

  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems, including process improvement or system optimization initiatives, strongly preferred.
