Job DescriptionAWS Hardware Engineering Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global compute systems. We support all AWS data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to keep customers continuous access to the innovation they rely on. Our team works on challenging problems with thousands of variables in the supply chain.ResponsibilitiesOwn and lead the design and development of server products utilizing a wide range of design and manufacturing partners.Work closely with customers to understand their technical needs and business goals, leveraging experience with server design and various teams to architect solutions that will be deployed at scale.Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of component, firmware, test, qualification, and integration engineers, and lead our design and manufacturing partners to bring these servers to the data center.Oversee the fleet of servers after launch, monitoring their quality and how they meet customer requirements.Continuously look for ways to improve product performance, quality, and cost while maintaining high standards.Basic QualificationsExperience in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity.Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.Experience in written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.5+ years experience with design and manufacturing processes.5+ years experience leading ODMs and other suppliers in product development and manufacturing processes.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.10+ years of server, storage, networking, or large-scale distributed systems experience.Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product.Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis.Experience with deploying and operating hardware and applications across large data centers.Proficient scripting, debug abilities, and Linux operations commands.Experience leading hardware and software development engineering teams.Benefits & CompensationBase salary range: USA, CA, Cupertino – USD 183,000.00 – 247,600.00 annually; USA, WA, Seattle – USD 159,200.00 – 215,300.00 annually. The package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
