Agility Recruiting is conducting a temp-to-perm search on behalf of a nonprofit housing organization in need of a Senior Grant Accountant. Reporting to the Associate Director of Accounting, you'll own the financial lifecycle of the grants and contracts portfolio, including budgeting, billing, GL entries, month-end close, and compliance.
What You'll Do
- Build and monitor budgets for grants and contracts in partnership with program staff
- Prepare billing, invoicing, and financial reports for funding agencies
- Record grant revenue accruals, reconcile contribution accounts, and support month-end close
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and support internal/external audits
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of nonprofit accounting experience
- Solid knowledge of GAAP for nonprofit grants and contracts
- Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office
Nice to Have
- CPA license
- Experience with Yardi accounting software
- Single audit preparation experience
