Our client is a venture-backed HealthTech company building a clinical workflow platform used by more than 250 hospitals and ambulatory clinics across the US. They're hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer for the Clinical Workspace team in NYC on hybrid (T-Th in office).

Responsibilities

  • Lead frontend implementation for major Clinical Workspace features including charting, orders, and medication workflows
  • Own the design-to-code partnership with the product design team — pair on Figma reviews, design tokens, and component contracts
  • Drive accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) across the team's surface area; lead a11y audits and remediation
  • Improve and extend the in-house React component library; contribute new primitives and refine existing ones
  • Set and enforce frontend performance budgets (LCP under 2s on hospital network conditions)
  • Lead frontend testing strategy: unit (Vitest), component (Testing Library), e2e (Playwright)
  • Mentor 2 mid-level engineers via code review, pair programming, and architecture discussions
  • Partner with backend on API design (REST + GraphQL); contribute to OpenAPI and schema reviews

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional frontend engineering with React in production at scale
  • Strong TypeScript including generics, discriminated unions, and component-typing patterns
  • Production experience with TanStack Query (or React Query), Zustand or Redux, and modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack, Turbopack)
  • Hands-on accessibility experience including WCAG 2.2, semantic HTML, ARIA, and screen reader testing
  • Strong design partnership skills; comfort with Figma, design tokens, and component contracts
  • Production experience with at least one e2e testing framework (Playwright or Cypress)
  • Prior experience shipping B2B, enterprise, internal-tool, or healthcare software preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Benefits

  • Base salary $150,000-$195,000 plus 10% target annual bonus
  • Meaningful equity grant (4-year vest, 1-year cliff)
  • Premium medical, dental, and vision (90% employer-paid for employee, 70% for dependents)
  • 401(k) with 5% match, immediate vesting
  • $3,000 annual learning and conference stipend
  • $200/month commuter benefit for hybrid days
  • 20 days PTO, 12 paid holidays, plus a paid company-wide week off in December
  • Catered lunch on in-office days plus stocked snacks and coffee
