What You Will Do
Lead on-site technical and administrative duties in a manufacturing environment. Interaction with customers production and technical personnel and suppliers.
Act as a consultant to customer on how and when to use chemicals or services in plant.
Coordinate with other sites on use of chemicals or services to drive communication and improvements.
Make value proposition to customer for gain sharing.
Prepare or design reports and forms using computer systems.
Order and record inventory of chemical products.
Able to independently input and/or place orders and receive in orders without support.
Recognize, initiate, manage, and execute projects without assistance.
Gathers data and prepares draft project sign-off proposals.
Assists or directs project work of other Fluidcare Engineers or Fluidcare Technicians.
Monitor and/or mentor Fluidcare Engineers.
Lead and conduct meetings, anticipate customer requests and needs, deliver concise next steps after reviewing value proposition and best practices.
Provide guidance to staff and temporary contractors as appropriate.
Implement and follow safety protocols, perform pretask plan, and all preoperation inspections.
May be required to collect, analyze, test, interpret, and record chemical samples, recommend, and complete corrective actions with no direction from site staff.
Acquire, record, and analyze process and usage data.
May need to use familiarity with budgets, month-end closing.
May have supervisory duties, which include input on performance appraisals, input on development plans, responsibility for non-exempt associates scheduling, and/or responsibility for sign-off of non-exempt employees time cards.
Perform Site Managers duties for short or interim periods.
May manage a service account as a single person site primarily engaged in chemical management with limited or no purchasing or supplemental services.
May be required to work flexible hours.
What We Look For
Bachelors degree in science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
Five or more years related chemical management service experience with at least one year in specific technical service or metalworking processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business, periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to lead and facilitate effective meetings.
Demonstrate basic mathematical skills.
Precise and accurate in dealing with figures and details.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, fractions, conversions, and proportions.
Ability to analyze, evaluate, and/or produce data such as charts and graphs.
Understand various business performance indicators such as P&L statements, Net Present Value, and ROI.
Advanced project management skills.
Organized and able to organize people and systems to obtain desired results.
Able to manage multiple demands, establish priorities, and respond to unanticipated situations.
Should also be decisive, persuasive, assertive, and able to see the big picture.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must have an extensive working knowledge of Internet software, e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, project tracking, ERP software, order processing, warehousing, and database software.
May direct the work of Quaker Houghton employees and/or non-employees.
Able to coach, direct, mentor, and delegate.
Responsibilities may include interviewing and training associates, planning, assigning direction of work, assisting manager in appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates, and assisting manager in addressing complaints and resolving problems.
