Senior Financial Strategy Manager

Location: Remote (Northeast or Midwest Preferred)

Are you an experienced accounting or finance professional who enjoys helping clients navigate complex financial decisions rather than spending your days focused on compliance and tax preparation? StaffBuffalo is partnering with a growing wealth and advisory organization to hire a Senior Financial Strategy Manager, offering $130,000–$180,000 per year, plus revenue sharing and long-term equity potential. This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a highly strategic role where you'll work directly with business owners, ultra-high-net-worth families, and trusted advisors to help oversee sophisticated financial structures and long-term planning initiatives.

As the Senior Financial Strategy Manager, you'll serve as a strategic partner to clients and internal advisors by reviewing financial information, evaluating tax-efficient structures, coordinating with CPAs and attorneys, and helping guide important financial decisions. Rather than preparing tax returns or performing day-to-day accounting, you'll focus on financial oversight, entity structures, investment reviews, estate planning coordination, acquisitions, and other high-value advisory work that helps preserve and grow generational wealth.

This role is ideal for a Senior Financial Strategy Manager with a strong accounting, audit, tax, or financial management background who wants to transition into a more consultative, relationship-driven environment. You'll collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, attorneys, and investment professionals while supporting a select group of high-net-worth families with complex financial needs. Approximately 95% of the role focuses on strategic financial planning and advisory services, with only limited involvement in accounting oversight.

This is a Hybrid position with a preference for candidates located throughout the Northeast or Midwest, including New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and surrounding states.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to high-net-worth families on complex financial planning, entity structures, and long-term wealth strategies.
  • Review financial statements, tax strategies, partnership structures, trusts, and reports prepared by external accounting firms.
  • Partner closely with financial advisors, attorneys, CPAs, and investment professionals to develop comprehensive financial strategies.
  • Evaluate private investment opportunities, acquisitions, and financial structures while providing objective analysis and recommendations.
  • Coordinate estate planning, succession planning, business ownership transitions, and multi-entity financial planning initiatives.
  • Help oversee family office operations, ensuring financial information is accurate, organized, and aligned with long-term client objectives.
  • Mentor and collaborate with internal professionals while reviewing financial work and supporting continued organizational growth.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients while delivering exceptional service and strategic financial guidance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Approximately 10+ years of experience in public accounting, audit, tax, family office, financial consulting, wealth management, or corporate finance.
  • Strong understanding of corporate taxation, partnership taxation, pass-through entities, trusts, estate planning concepts, and complex business structures.
  • Experience reviewing financial statements, tax strategies, and financial reporting while providing strategic recommendations.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience overseeing staff, reviewing work, or mentoring team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, business owners, and high-net-worth clients.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable collaborating across multiple disciplines, including accounting, legal, investment, and financial planning.
  • CPA designation is welcomed but not required.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $130,000–$180,000
  • Revenue sharing program
  • Long-term equity opportunity
  • Fully remote work environment
  • Comprehensive health benefits
  • Paid Time Off and company holidays
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Significant long-term career growth within a rapidly expanding advisory practice
  • Opportunity to work with sophisticated business owners and ultra-high-net-worth families
