Senior Financial Platforms Architect
New York, NY (Hybrid)
Full-time | $170,000 – $183,000
No third-party candidates or vendors please.
Experience in a highly regulated environment (legal, financial services, or similar) is required.
About the Role
This position focuses on the design and day-to-day reality of financial systems in a complex environment. The person in this role will take ownership of how these systems are connected, how they perform, and how they support the business.
There is also a forward-looking component. The team is actively exploring where automation and AI can remove friction from billing, accounting, and reporting processes. This role plays a key part in making that real in a practical, usable way.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the technical direction of financial systems across applications, databases, and supporting infrastructure
- Work directly in core platforms handling configuration, performance tuning, and system behavior
- Partner with infrastructure and engineering teams to keep systems running smoothly and recoverable
- Step in on high-impact issues, break them down quickly, and put fixes in place that actually last
- Build and maintain integrations between financial systems and other internal platforms using APIs and data pipelines
- Collaborate with development and data teams to introduce automation and AI into financial workflows where it makes sense
- Put guardrails in place around access, data handling, and system changes
- Guide engineers and analysts on technical decisions tied to financial platforms
Background We're Looking For
- Experience working with complex financial systems in a large, multi-system environment
- Strong understanding of how enterprise applications connect and share data
- Hands-on experience with integrations, APIs, and data movement between systems
- Comfort working directly with databases (SQL) and scripting (Python or similar)
- Experience with Microsoft-based environments and at least one major cloud platform
- Exposure to automation or AI-driven workflows is helpful but not required
- Solid understanding of system security, access, and data protection practices
What Tends to Work Well in This Role
- Someone who can move between big-picture thinking and hands-on problem solving without getting stuck in either
- Clear communicator who can work with both technical teams and business stakeholders
- Comfortable stepping into messy situations and bringing structure to them
- Experience working in environments where accuracy, security, and uptime really matter
