The Office of Fiscal and Monitoring Services OFMS Fiscal Services Division is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring all the agencys budget activities. This encompasses the biennial budget process, annual budget implementation, and projecting federal budget estimates.

The Division is also responsible for the management of the agencys revenue disbursements and financial obligations, as well as performing daily federal cash draws, reconciles, and reports on federal grant status.

What You Will Do Position Summary The Senior Financial Manager serving as Chief of the Bureau of Fiscal Planning and Operations is a strong fit for someone with deep experience in public finance, budget development and implementation, cost allocation, and overall fiscal management.

This role requires the ability to plan, develop, and carry out large-scale fiscal analyses and projects.

Realistic Job Preview Working closely with the Chief Fiscal Officer and Assistant Chief Fiscal Officer in the Office of Fiscal and Monitoring Services OFMS, this position helps define the agencys fiscal goals and objectives as the Bureau Chief of Budget and Cost Management.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services ODJFS biennial budget • Managing payroll projections • Overseeing the cost allocation plan • Maintaining the agencys coding structure • Supporting many other essential fiscal functions

The role requires flexibility and responsiveness to the changing needs of ODJFS senior leadership and OFMS leadership.

The ideal candidate can produce detailed fiscal analysis under tight deadlines, manage multiple projects at once, and remain effective in high-pressure situations through strong prioritization.

Success also depends on understanding both program and fiscal processes, managing expectations across many stakeholders, and serving as a primary point of contact for fiscal matters within ODJFS.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule Full-time Hours Workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Travel Occasional travel within the state of Ohio.

Location This position will report to the James A. Rhodes State Office Tower 30 East Broad Street Columbus, OH 43215.
