  Budget & Planning Services Job Description

  The Senior Financial and Accounting Consultant plays a critical role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities for the campus. This position assists in developing revenue projections for future fiscal years and evaluating current-year financial performance across all activity types. The role is essential to ensuring financial accountability and supports strategic decision-making by providing accurate, timely, and insightful financial analysis.Key Responsibilities:Financial Planning & Projections:Assist in preparing multi-year financial projections, including enrollment forecasts, analysis of the impact of strategic initiatives, and capital planning assumptions to inform the five-year financial plan. Enter approved projections into the campus budgeting tool.Reporting & Analysis:Develop and deliver regular and ad-hoc financial reports to support campus leadership, track budget variances, and measure key performance indicators. Analyze financial trends and provide data-driven insights for decision-making.Position Funding Oversight:Monitor and track position-level funding, ensuring accurate allocation and documentation of General Revenue Allocation (GRA) funds. Maintain records of funding changes and verify that adjustments are properly balanced.Annual Budget Development:Support the annual campus budget process, including revenue estimation and entry of personnel and expense data into the budgeting system. Provide training and guidance to departments and divisional business officers. Review and validate data entry, identify year-over-year variances, and assist departments in correcting discrepancies.Campus Collaboration & Support:Partner with Fiscal Services Directors and divisional staff to gather data in response to requests from the Controller's Office. Serve as resource to division business and finance leads and regarding financial data analysis, budgeting tools, and reporting.Special Projects:Assist Finance Directors with high-priority projects that are complex or sensitive in nature, providing analytical support, research, and documentation as needed. Support the development of communication materials that share financial information with campus stakeholders, including presentation materials, financial summary reports, budget books, and other publications or deliverables as needed.   A Bachelor''s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications

  Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting, preferably in higher educationExperience utilizing PeopleSoft Queries, Power BI Reporting, Workday, and Cognos or other similar budget management and reporting toolsProficient in business applications, such as MS ExcelAbility to compile, model, and analyze large data sets and make meaningful recommendations to management/leadershipWorking knowledge of University Finance policies and proceduresCustomer focused and excellent attention to detail Anticipated Hiring Range

  The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $59,738 to $83,304 annually.  Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
