The department currently operates on a hybrid schedule, with in-office work Monday through Wednesday and the opportunity for remote work Thursday and Friday. Position Summary: This Financial Analyst position resides within the Kinder Morgan CO2 and ETV business unit. The Kinder Morgan CO2 and ETV business unit consists of multiple oilfields, a gas and power plant, transportation pipelines, and multiple Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) plants. The responsibilities include forecasting, budgeting, and monthly/quarterly reporting and analysis. This role will office out of either Midland or Houston, Texas.
Position Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
MBA and/or CPA preferred
Experience & Knowledge:
5+ years' experience in financial analysis and planning
Experience in financial modeling, budgets, and operational analysis
Detailed understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial statements
Experience with oil and gas industry preferred
This position may be filled at various levels to commensurate with skills, education, and experience

Ability to understand, design, and create complex models
Advanced Microsoft Excel, VBA, and Power Query skills
Effective and concise communication skills in both oral and written form
Comfortable presenting to all levels of management

Ability to think critically and understand how the numbers interrelate
Additional work hours may be required, including weekends and holidays on occasion
Key Responsibilities:
Provide timely and accurate financial information
Coordinate and prepare forecast updates with analysis
Coordinate and prepare information related to monthly close
Coordinate and prepare the annual budget
Prepare financial data and analysis for the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) and Long-Range Outlook (LRO)
Analyze monthly financial results and monitor the accounting close process
Provide and present variance explanations, investigate drivers and anomalies
Enhance and improve financial processes, while maintaining data integrity
Interface with all levels of management to obtain data and information necessary to complete duties
Liaison between Corporate Financial Planning, Segment Accounting and Operations Groups
Lead and mentor junior team members
Ad hoc analysis as request by management
