Finance Manager / Senior Finance Manager

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite)
Compensation: $120,000–$140,000
Reports To: CFO

Position Overview

Seeking a Finance Manager or Senior Finance Manager to lead accounting and financial operations within a growing, mission-driven technology organization. This role combines hands-on accounting leadership with strategic finance responsibilities, partnering closely with the CFO to support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, and organizational growth.

Key Qualifications

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Strong expertise in AP, AR, General Ledger, payroll, and month-end close
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis
  • Grant and project accounting experience required
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and reporting
  • QuickBooks experience required
  • Bill.com experience preferred
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Experience in HealthTech, SaaS, Digital Health, Technology, or other growth-stage environments preferred

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger management
  • Manage outsourced accounting resources and ensure timely, accurate financial processes
  • Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance
  • Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic initiatives
  • Manage grant and project accounting, including budget tracking, burn-rate monitoring, and compliance reporting
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable financial insights to leadership
  • Improve financial systems, controls, and processes to support organizational growth
  • Support cross-functional teams with financial planning and decision-making
