POSITION SUMMARY

Perform project site coordination and services for the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of transmission and distribution equipment, including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, and control systems for the Service Center Division (SCD). Provide expert level technical support and train other technicians.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop and execute plans for work to be performed at customer sites. • Coordinate planned work with customers and contractors. • Collaborate with the equipment division's Project, Engineering, and Sales teams to address and resolve equipment performance issues. • Lead on-site turnkey installation and commissioning projects. • Assist in the planning and scheduling of these turnkey projects. • Lead and direct assembly of equipment division products including assembly techniques and quality control. • Organize and supervise site mobilization and demobilization, review and process subcontractor timesheets, review and confirm change orders, document job progress, conduct daily pre-job briefings, and perform safety observations and reporting. • Provide expert level technical support to internal and external customers, including third party service organizations and end users. • Train and evaluate third-party service organizations on product service and installation. • Develop and provide customer training and training materials for MEPPI product offerings. • Program, calibrate, install, and troubleshoot electronic control devices. • Analyze graphical and data performance onsite or remotely. • Recommend service product offerings and solutions to customers based on customer preferences and for the long-term maintenance of the capital investment (e.g., MEPPI offered maintenance plans). • Provide input for quotation of these services as needed. • Develop test plans and set up test equipment for product commissioning, Analyze, document, and report on the results of commissioning tests. • Train customers in the use of testing software. • Maintain service records and documentation of services provided. • Develop and deliver detailed documentation on the analysis of issues associated with the repair or inspection of equipment division products. • Submit accurate expense reports to the Company for reimbursement in a timely manner in accordance with Company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 8 years of experience with troubleshooting and repair of a technical, electrical and/or electronic products including 5 years of experience with substation or power electronics related equipment.

Advanced field application knowledge of substation related products.

Advanced knowledge of common electrical equipment, substation construction and associated equipment.

Advanced knowledge and proficiency of mechanical and electronic test equipment to include operation, data collection, data analysis, and advanced data reporting.

Advanced knowledge of communications and networking protocols.

Advanced interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate with customers, employees, and suppliers.

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

Advanced ability to read and understand technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, bills of material, and instruction manuals.

Ability to organize activities and work well in a team environment.

Advanced computer skills, emphasizing knowledge of MS Office products, MS Project, MRP/ERP systems and company timekeeping and expense reporting systems.
