Job Summary (Field Manager - Commercial Glass, Alpharetta, GA)
- Lead Field Operations: Oversee and direct all field activities for commercial glass installation projects, from mobilization to closeout.
- Crew Management: Schedule, assign, and manage field crews; handle daily schedules, crew utilization, and project sequencing to maximize efficiency.
- Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality standards for glazing installations (storefront, curtain wall, interior glass, windows); conduct field inspections and resolve performance or warranty issues.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and subcontractor support to avoid delays and keep projects on track.
- Client & GC Relations: Serve as primary field contact for general contractors, construction managers, and building owners; attend meetings, manage expectations, and resolve field conflicts.
- Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor field staff; develop training standards and help scale the field team as the business grows.
- Safety & Compliance: Promote and ensure safety across all job sites; enforce OSHA and company safety policies, conduct toolbox talks, and manage incident reporting.
- Scheduling: Work with project management to develop and adjust installation schedules in alignment with overall project timelines.
- Technical Expertise: Utilize deep knowledge of commercial glazing systems and construction drawings to ensure high-quality installations.
- Hands-on Leadership: Conduct regular site visits and provide hands-on support and guidance to crews.
- Operational Scaling: Support business growth by improving systems and processes to scale field operations efficiently.
Ideal Candidate:
- 10-15+ years' experience in commercial glazing (storefront, curtain wall, interior glass), with field leadership/superintendent background.
- Strong technical knowledge of glazing systems, waterproofing/sealant details, and reading architectural/shop drawings.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and growing/mentoring teams in a specialty subcontractor environment.
- OSHA 30 and lift certifications preferred.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with GCs and clients.
- Based in/relocatable to Atlanta metro; daily site travel required.
