Build Critical Infrastructure Projects That Matter

Chitina Support Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support major government and industrial construction projects in high-compliance environments, including DOE and nuclear-related facilities.

We are looking for a technically strong, field-focused engineering professional with experience in heavy civil, structural concrete, industrial construction, or nuclear-quality environments. This position plays a key role in coordinating field execution, quality assurance, inspections, technical documentation, and project compliance.

What You'll Do

• Support field execution activities on complex construction projects
• Coordinate with project managers, quality control teams, subcontractors, and craft labor
• Review engineering drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering standards, ACI codes, NQA-1 requirements, and project specifications
• Support rebar installation and concrete placement inspections
• Prepare RFIs and assist with field problem resolution
• Assist with work package development, scheduling, inspections, and closeout documentation
• Identify and communicate project risks related to schedule, materials, equipment, or quality
• Support project quantity tracking, cost coding, and field reporting
• Participate in safety meetings, quality briefings, and field inspections

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Coordinator in:
  • Heavy civil construction
  • Industrial construction
  • Power generation
  • DOE / government projects
  • Nuclear construction environments
• Experience with:
  • Reinforced concrete construction
  • Rebar inspections and concrete placement
  • Structural drawings and construction specifications
  • Field quality documentation and inspections
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and field coordination
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Experience

• NQA-1 construction or quality assurance experience
• Nuclear construction background
• ACI code compliance experience
• Experience supporting DOE, USACE, or DoD projects
• Familiarity with:
  • AutoCAD
  • MicroStation
  • Maximo
  • SAP
• OSHA 30 Certification
• Ability to obtain DOE or DoD site access/security clearance
