About the Role
As our Senior Facilities Technician, you'll be the hands-on leader of facilities maintenance across our Salt Lake City and Millcreek locations. This full-time position pays $30–$33 per hour DOE and combines technical expertise, problem-solving, project coordination, and team leadership.
You'll spend your time maintaining critical building systems, leading facility improvement projects, mentoring facilities staff, and ensuring our spaces remain safe, functional, and welcoming for members and employees alike.
What You'll Do
- Perform repairs, maintenance, cleaning, and facility improvement projects across both locations
- Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, IT, fitness equipment, heaters, and swamp coolers
- Lead and support part-time facilities team members while helping prioritize and delegate work
- Conduct facility inspections, safety audits, and code-compliance checks
- Develop and maintain SOPs, maintenance schedules, and facility documentation
- Coordinate vendors, contractors, volunteers, and maintenance-related purchases
- Manage maintenance records and planning using Microsoft Office and company software
- Support seasonal projects including snow removal, winterization, landscaping, storage management, and temperature monitoring
- Maintain organized workspaces and facility systems using 5S principles
- Deliver excellent customer service while supporting a positive member experience
What You Bring
You might be a great fit if you:
- Have at least five years of professional experience, including facilities maintenance, trade training, higher education, or a combination of these experiences
- Bring at least three years of facilities maintenance experience and leadership or supervisory experience
- Have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across a variety of building systems
- Are comfortable working independently while staying organized and accountable
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, contractors, and members
- Enjoy creating systems, checklists, and processes that improve efficiency and consistency
- Have experience with general maintenance tasks such as painting, wall repair, light plumbing, and basic electrical work
- Are willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, or urgent response situations when needed
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Value teamwork and understand that creating a great member experience is everyone's responsibility
Physical & Work Environment
This is an active, hands-on role that includes:
- Standing and walking for most of the workday
- Regularly lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
- Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year
- Safely using hand and power tools
- Exposure to dust, chalk, cleaning products, and general maintenance environments
