This role is based in DeSoto, Texas and the incumbent will provide maintenance support operating in a dynamic manufacturing environment supporting multiple buildings, 24/7 operations, multiple mechanical and electrical disciplines, and complex equipment. The maintenance technician is responsible for performing highly diversified facility equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance.

Interacts with different levels of inter-organizational personnel, vendors, and consultants. Strong customer interaction skills, ability to identify and solve problems independently and computer literacy are critical for success.

Working in a team environment is critical and providing direction to others with different cultural and technical backgrounds is necessary for success.

This position directly reports to the Facility Operations and Planning Manager.

The position is located in DeSoto and is not a remote position.

Relocation assistance is not available.

This is a 3rd shift position.

What you will do:

  • Use hand and power tools as well as other equipment to perform carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pipefitting, painting, HVAC and other repairs and maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain facility systems such as air compressors, dryers, wet and dry fire systems, cooling tower systems, overhead doors.
  • Knowledge in the use and application of moderately complex electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on facility and production equipment and systems.
  • Adheres to established industry and enterprise standards, policies and practices relating to safety, quality, schedule, cost, accounting, purchasing and regulatory compliance in performing assigned duties.
  • Participate in the implementation of Continuous Improvements (CI) projects, space planning projects and capital projects.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
  • Conducts and completes on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.

What you will have:

  • 6+ years of experience in facility maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance lift equipment, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
  • Understanding of lockout / tagout procedures.
  • Operational knowledge of air compressors, dryers, wet and dry fire systems, cooling towers.
  • Willing and able to climb to levels above the shop floor, or use a man-lift, as needed, to make repairs.
  • Familiar with PM procedures, including performing PM's and logging work order completion.
  • Work with Planner / Scheduler to optimize preventative maintenance procedures and document maintenance activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Applications.

  • Deep understanding and expertise in specific fields of facilities and maintenance such as plumbing, electrical, construction, HVAC (heating, ventilation, & air conditioning), and/or maintenance of building infrastructures.
  • Familiarity with modern construction, building codes and practices.
  • Knowledge of electricity and electrical systems (AC/DC systems, relays, switches, fuses, breakers, motors)
  • Knowledgeable in cutting, grinding, welding, and fabrication.
  • Advanced mechanical knowledge of machine components (pulleys, levers, belts, etc.) pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, lubrication theory, equipment alignments and preventative maintenance.
  • Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair problems with mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and building drawings and schematics.
  • Identify, specify, source and order supplies and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) systems.

Summary Pay Range:

$58,556.00 - $87,834.00
