Trusted by more startups around the world, AWS makes the power of cloud computing and AI accessible for all by giving founders everywhere access to the same technology that powers the world"s largest companies. With experience gained from supporting hundreds of thousands of startups, we help founders prove that their world-changing ideas are possible, at any stage of growth or level of funding.

The AWS Startup Marketing team is seeking a Senior Startup Evangelist to serve as the public-facing technical voice for AWS in the startup and venture capital ecosystem. You will independently define our value proposition and narrative for startups, acting as a technical thought leader with deep understanding of how founders can use cloud and AI services and AWS Startup programs to accelerate their growth. You will create and present world-class technical content that shows how startups at every stage can use AWS, highlighting everyday coding practices, cloud architectures, in-depth tutorials, code samples, and best practices for scaling.

As a Senior IC, you will engage the world"s most exciting new businesses and venture capital firms through executive briefings, keynotes, workshops, and original media content. You will partner with Startup Sales, Solutions Architecture, and Business Development teams to align evangelism priorities with go-to-market strategy, balancing pipeline-generating activities with long-term brand and community investments. You will define success metrics, build repeatable engagement frameworks, and raise the bar on technical content quality across the organization.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create and drive the messaging narrative for startups, including our value proposition, customer promises, and reasons to believe. Define success metrics for evangelism activities and report on pipeline influence, community engagement, and brand preference.
  • Lead engagements with top startups and VC firms, delivering executive briefings and technical workshops. Prioritize engagements across geographies, segments, and channels based on business impact, balancing pipeline-generating activities with long-term brand and community investments.
  • Serve as the public-facing evangelist for AWS Startup Marketing through keynote presentations, speaking engagements, media interviews, and community engagement.
  • Deliver world-class technical content, including executive presentations, event keynotes, demonstrations, livestreams, podcasts, workshops, and technical materials, that showcases how startups can build and scale on AWS.
  • Partner with Startup Sales, Solutions Architecture, Business Development, and Product teams to align evangelism priorities with go-to-market strategy. Influence content and event investment priorities across the Startup Marketing organization.
  • Build repeatable engagement frameworks (startup EBC playbooks, VC narrative templates, technical demo kits) that the broader organization can scale and adopt.
  • Mentor and coach content creators, field marketers, and solutions architects on startup storytelling and technical evangelism best practices. Raise the bar on technical content quality across the organization.

About the Company

A

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
