Description

The Senior Estimator will report into the Preconstruction leadership team and be responsible for leading the estimating process on large-scale mechanical construction opportunities. You will play a key role in driving project wins and supporting business growth.

  • Lead detailed estimates for mechanical construction projects valued up to $20M
  • Prepare comprehensive take-offs and cost analyses for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Review drawings, specifications, schematics, and bid documents to develop accurate pricing strategies
  • Solicit, analyse, and evaluate vendor, subcontractor, and equipment quotations
  • Develop bid proposals and presentations for general contractors, owners, and key stakeholders
  • Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and preconstruction teams to ensure successful project pursuits

Profile

For the Senior Estimator we are seeking:

  • 10+ years of estimating experience within mechanical construction
  • Strong background in plumbing, HVAC, process piping, hydronic, and sheet metal systems
  • Experience estimating institutional, laboratory, pharmaceutical, brewery, healthcare, manufacturing, or industrial projects
  • Proven experience leading estimates on projects valued up to $20M
  • Strong understanding of process piping layouts, schematics, P&IDs, and technical specifications
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, project schedules, and field conditions
  • Experience evaluating subcontractor proposals and developing competitive bid strategies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Teams, and Bluebeam
  • Experience with QuickPen and/or Autobid software is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
