CONFIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITY – Senior Estimator (Commercial Interiors)

A respected and growing commercial specialty contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced estimating professional with a background in commercial metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and interior construction.

The Senior Estimator will play a key role in leading project pursuits, preparing competitive estimates, supporting business development, and partnering with leadership to support continued growth throughout Central Florida.

Position Overview

The Senior Estimator will manage the complete estimating process for commercial interior construction projects, including takeoffs, cost analysis, bid preparation, and preconstruction strategy. This role will collaborate with operations and leadership to ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with field execution.

This position is based in Orlando, FL with travel to Tampa for client meetings, project pursuits, and business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead estimating efforts for commercial interior projects including metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and related scopes.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and review drawings, specifications, addenda, and engineering documents.
  • Develop estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project requirements.
  • Manage bid preparation, pre-bid meetings, site visits, RFIs, and proposal development.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
  • Maintain estimating databases, historical costs, production rates, and market pricing.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and leadership to align estimates with project execution.
  • Build relationships with general contractors, owners, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Participate in client presentations and business development meetings.
  • Mentor junior estimating team members.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
  • Experience with metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, or commercial interiors preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, UL assemblies, and engineered systems.
  • Experience with estimating software such as On Center, Quick Bid, The EDGE, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
