Position OverviewThe Project & Equipment Engineer is responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, and technical integrity of production equipment throughout the facility. Serving as the primary engineering authority for equipment-related issues, this role oversees troubleshooting, modifications, repairs, upgrades, and technical approvals to ensure equipment consistently supports safe operations, product quality, and production objectives. Working closely with Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Operations teams, the Project & Equipment Engineer drives equipment reliability improvements, resolves complex technical challenges, and ensures equipment capabilities align with both current and future manufacturing requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Performance & ReliabilityEnsure production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while meeting quality and production requirements.Monitor equipment performance metrics and implement initiatives to improve uptime, consistency, and overall operational effectiveness.Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on equipment reliability and process stability.Lead investigations into equipment failures, operational issues, and process-related challenges.Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of equipment and system problems.Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues and improve long-term performance.Change Control & Technical OversightReview, evaluate, and approve equipment modifications, repairs, upgrades, and engineering changes.Assess the impact of proposed changes on safety, product quality, process performance, and equipment reliability.Ensure all modifications are properly tested, validated, and documented before full implementation.Maintenance & Technical SupportProvide technical guidance and engineering support to maintenance teams during troubleshooting and repair activities.Evaluate and approve alternative components, repair methods, and technical solutions when necessary.Support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives to maximize equipment availability.Process Engineering SupportCollaborate closely with Process Engineers to ensure equipment consistently performs according to process requirements.Determine whether operational issues stem from equipment limitations or process-related changes.Develop and implement equipment adaptations or enhancements to support evolving process needs.Equipment Improvement & Capital ProjectsIdentify opportunities to improve equipment performance, capability, and efficiency.Design and develop in-house engineering solutions or coordinate with OEMs and external vendors as needed.Support capital improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and new equipment installations from concept through implementation.Participate in equipment selection, commissioning, validation, and startup activities.Required QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, equipment engineering, maintenance engineering, or a related industrial environment.Proven experience supporting production equipment, manufacturing systems, and process integration activities.Demonstrated success troubleshooting complex equipment and process-related issues.#J-18808-Ljbffr
