Oracle Health Government Services is seeking a skilled Federal Senior Engineer/Architect (Principal Consultant) to join our mission-driven organization. In this role, you will be responsible for leading engineering activities, projects and ensuring successful deployment of the Federal EHR across design scope, project schedule, and engineering objectives. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience working with federal engineering projects (VA and/or DoD), working with Oracle Health Millennium and associated applications as part of the Federal EHR, and be comfortable operating within a secure and dynamic engineering environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams-both internal stakeholders and client partners-so familiarity with systems development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies, business/application re-engineering, and hands on engineering best practices is essential.

5-7 years of experience relevant to this position including 2 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • This individual must be willing to accept new assignments and "dive in" with limited oversight and have a proven track record of learning new technologies, architectures, and tools.
  • The candidate will be responsible for evaluating existing and proposed systems and system enhancements to determine requirements and ensure client integration solutions meet organizational and product needs.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting with engineering activities as part of the Federal EHR deployments across the United States for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • The candidate will design and develop solutions to integrate applications between Oracle Health and federal client systems.
  • The candidate will be required to create and document visual representations of systems and their inputs and outputs, partner with Oracle Health and client delivery teams to implement integration solutions within defined project scope.
  • The candidate will also collaborate with engineering teams, development teams, client end users and other stakeholders as appropriate. We're looking for someone who thrives on working with large scale, distributed systems and is always looking for ways to automate manual tasks.
  • Ensures work products meet (and frequently exceed) quality requirements
  • Monitor and controls work, anticipating and avoiding issues to the maximum extent possible
  • Assist with staffing needs including interviews

Top skills or competencies to be successful:

  • Hands on experience assisting/leading engineering projects with multiple teams
  • 3rd party vendor management and engineering project management experience
  • Federal EHR (VA and/or DoD) engineering and deployment experience
  • Federal Cyber understanding/experience
  • Engineering experience with Oracle Health (Cerner) Applications/Platforms, or similar
  • Engineering experience with Cloud technologies (Oracle Cloud or similar)

Education, certifications, or experience (preferred/required):

  • Bachelors plus a minimum of 5 years with engineering experience
  • Previous Federal Contracting experience preferred
  • Required travel up to 25%
  • US Citizenship is required with an ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

NOTE: We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role at this time. Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass Public Trust security clearance and additional Government clearance. Also, prefer applicants within a 50 mile radius to Arlington, VA, but will consider other locations for the right candidate.
