Job Title: Senior Engineering Technician

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Senior Engineering Technician with our client located in Sunnyvale, CA.

Job Description:
  • This position will be responsible for the support of engineers in the Vision NPI Equipment department.
  • This includes assembly of custom designed test and calibration equipment for endoscopes and conducting tests.
  • The equipment developed by this team is to be used in a production environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Build, assemble, repair and align electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical test equipment
  • Perform tests and calibration of optical products using custom made test equipment
  • Performing equipment qualifications IQOQPQ and GR&R
  • Perform other engineering technician duties as-needed
  • Perform optical alignment of test equipment.

Job Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Strong mechanical skills, certificate or associate degree in mechanical engineering
  • Ability to understand mechanical drawings & electrical schematics
  • Ability to fabricate fixtures from assembly drawings and associated documentation
  • Able to perform mechanical rework of parts and/or coordinate with machine shop for rework
  • Able to contribute to design, construction, and improvement of opto-mechanical test fixtures
  • Ability to solve technical issues
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Proven ability to work well in team environment
  • Proficiency with computers and Excel software
  • Familiarity with Agile or equivalent PDM tool
  • Familiarity with SAP or equivalent ERP tool
  • Solidworks mechanical CAD modeling and drawing creation preferred
  • Experience with electro-mechanical manufacturing and test with optical test platforms preferred.

Job Details:
  • Job Type: Contract
  • Pay Range: $45-$52/hr.
  • Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite).
