Duties include development of engineering contracts, control of project design, compliance with Client & industry standards, QA/QC, and management of engineering budgets & schedules. For assigned projects, this position leads engineering for scoping, study, design, procurement, construction, and ensures replication of engineering solutions. This role establishes and communicates engineering priorities to contract partners, project team members, and management. It also provides leadership and technical direction to the project design and execution team while ensuring quality products from design firms, contractors and OEMs meet or exceed project requirements.Job Duties/Accountabilities:Decision making authority and accountability to translate the goals and strategies of Client into specific project engineering and work plan activities while providing leadership and technical direction to the project team. Resolves conflicts and gains consensus between vendors, partners, engineering, construction and management for projects.Lead for studies and designs, including drawings, engineering specifications, calculations, purchasing requisitions, bills of materials, procurement specifications, QA/QC plans, factory acceptance, etc.Provide technical direction for mechanical, electrical, I&C, civil, and structural engineering for project teams implementing various multi-disciplined projects with minimal assistance from others.Management and accountability of project engineering budgets, forecasts, and schedules to support project completion within pre-established targets to include metrics for safety, quality, and environmental goals.Provides engineering oversight and governance of engineered equipment suppliers including purchasing componentsEnsure product quality from contract engineering and construction partners, and compliance with Client processes, procedures, and standards associated with project design and associated documentation. Management, tracking, control and evaluation of engineering performance for continuous improvement and innovation through engineering contracts to execute engineering for projects utilizing matrix teams. Translate goals and strategies into specific initiatives and work plan activities.Supports all project engineering and technical functions, including development, design, equipment selection, procurement, project management, and construction management.Weekly in-person or teams’ meetings or more often if needed to review all projects going over the PM and PrgMrgs separate to do list to help keep each other from missing anythingKeeps a log of all engineering milestones to make sure engineering partners and projects in phase one and phase two are tracking the milestones and doing everything needed to not miss these milestonesRaises the flags as early as possible if any milestones are not on trackFacilitates all JPTs for phase 1 and 2 meetings, leading the meetings with the engineering partnersEnsures all items needed for design packages are being turned in in a timely mannerGo-to between the engineering partners and the plant engineering teamsWorks with vendor engineering teams if needing items from themKeeps tracks of the engineering POs, making sure they are in budget and informs partner and myself if they are getting close to cost and if there needs to be a revisionNotifies PM when invoices are in and approved in an expeditious mannerReaches out to engineering partners to make sure fee evaluations are done in a timely manner and not holding up the project from closingFollows the project tracking method that the PM keeps seeing when RFP packages are needed for projects beginning or changing from phase to phaseKeeps PM informed of the proposal reviews and discuss together their thought process on the best partner for that projectCaptures lessons learned along the wayClean up late DCN reports from prior program managersResponds to emails and calls in a very timely mannerMakes PM/PrgMgr communication a priorityGoes to all sites visits required plus visits that are notEmphasizes safety expectations during meetings **Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.** **Please note that all Position start dates and duration are estimates and may be reduced or lengthened based upon a client’s business needs and requirements.** Benefits: For information and details on employment benefits offered with this position, please visit here.
