Senior Engineer, System Planning (Eversource Energy Service Company) (Westwood, MA): Lead, conduct and present scenario and probabilistic based planning studies under existing and forecast system conditions; Contribute sound engineering input to develop robust, reliable, low-cost solutions; Exchange results and conduct critical review of data and assumptions from regional and industry stakeholders; Interface with ISO-New England, area transmission owners, and the company's departments to understand and mitigate electric system needs, challenges, and enable growth; Coordinate and oversee studies performed by vendors and consultants, analyzing assumptions and review conclusions to integrate into company initiatives; Prepare engineering output and summarize in reports, spreadsheets, and presentations to colleagues, management, industry groups and regional stakeholders; Collaborate with cross-functional groups to develop long-range planning standards and criteria for integrating and enabling new technologies; Collaborate with ISO-NE, Academia and DOE National Labs on power system planning and operation technology strategy, research, and development; and Work emergency restoration assignments as needed. In order to complete the above-mentioned tasks, the following skills and experience is required: Experience with transmission planning, software simulations, IBR modeling, and transient analysis; Experience applying electrical theory to planning an electric power supply system; Experience using power system modeling and simulation software for steady state power flow, voltage, short circuit, stability, and electromagnetic transients; Experience with HVDC and inverter-based resource parameters and modeling, including simulation experience in weak grid systems; Experience with PSSE and PSCAD; Experience with Python and VBA; Experience with Powertech (TSAT, VSAT), ASPEN Oneliner, EMTP (ATP), TARA, and PI Processbook; Experience applying NERC TPL, NPCC, and ISO-NE planning procedures. Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineer or a related field, and at least five years of experience as a Planning Engineer, Research Assistant, or related occupation.
