Job Title: Sr. Manager Software Engineering
Location: 8515 East Orchard Road, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 May work remotely from anywhere in the US.*
Salary: $187,302.00 / year with standard corporate benefits.
Duties: Lead teams that develop, implement, and maintain highly complex proprietary and/or purchased software systems in support of the Retirement, Life & Annuity, and Asset Management businesses. Fulfill responsibilities of system architect within assigned areas. Oversee the execution and continuously improving Agile software development method to design, code, modify, test, debug, integrate, document, and deliver software systems that realize business/product specifications and satisfy customer expectations. Make recommendations and directly influence decisions regarding system enhancements. Assign teams and individual staff to projects of varying scope. Assist business leaders and business systems analysts with an Agile process of prioritizing and structuring work so that teams deliver business value in frequent and regular increments. Establish and maintain procedures and best practices by which subordinates operate. Bear responsibility for team performance and overall success of assigned projects. Ensure subordinates perform work as prescribed in order to achieve shared business objectives. Assist Director of Investment Systems in publishing, maintaining and fulfilling a strategic technical roadmap for Investment Systems. Make recommendations on pay and decisions on performance appraisals, work schedules, discipline and hiring. Estimate staffing needs and schedules and cultivate the team's self-organizing capability for delivering business value. Define team and subordinate performance goals and development objectives then actively mentor individual team members to support goal achievements and assess outcomes. Work with associated line of business leaders to establish and maintain a clear product road map. Forge and maintain strong business partnerships. Provide performance management to assigned application development team members by defining team and individualized performance objectives and actively manage their realization. Ensure the assigned team's work and responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with procedures and quality standards. Participate in budget planning. Make recommendations affecting staff (compensation, performance appraisals, development plans, work schedules, discipline and hiring). Define and execute tactical steps that realize a strategic technical vision. Facilitate the creation of work plans in accordance with defined business priorities. Perform functions (as needed) of an Agile SCRUM master or project manager. Define and implement continuous improvement processes to elevate organizational capabilities and business value. This position supervises 8 Developers, 1 Lead Engineer Mobile, 3 Senior Engineer Mobile, 1 Lead Analyst Business Systems, 1 Engineer Mobile, and 1 Lead Engineer Quality. *May work remotely from anywhere in the US.
Requirements:** Master's degree* (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related; 3 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, iOS Developer, or a related position, which must include: Financial Services application development, including developing iOS applications in an Agile environment using Objective-C, Xcode, UI Kit, RestKit and Gitlab. Encryption of algorithms for mobile apps for financial services. iOS Mobile App deployment in App Store. *Will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) and five years of experience in lieu of a Master's degree and three years of experience, including experience in skills above.
