In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Lead the delivery of design-only, design-build, and construction-only projects in Electrical Engineering deliverables for Data Center projects.Provide subject matter expertise in the area of Data Center design.Train and develop early-career and/or inexperienced professionals.Work with a collaborative team of engineers experienced in Data Center projects.Build business relationships with clients to understand needs and drivers.Interact in a client-facing and business development role.Support business development, including developing scope-of-work, level-of-effort, and conducting site visits to understand the scope of the pursuit.Continuously develop technical expertise.This role will support projects primarily for North America. The ideal candidate will be located or willing to relocate to the company's headquarters in Overland Park, KS (Kansas City) or one of the following regional office locations: Canonsburg, PA (Pittsburgh); Charlotte, NC; Cary, NC (Raleigh); Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ.Key ResponsibilitiesProactively provide guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes and company policies. May own, maintain, update, or develop engineering standards and guides. Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects or disciplines.Apply knowledge and ensure compliance with the company's quality program. Establish related processes and promote a culture conducive to quality. Support continuous improvement, change management, and risk management efforts.Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables for multiple or large-scale projects. Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Oversee collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work.Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Develop and apply advanced engineering solutions to complex problems.Ensure project teams delegate appropriate tasks to lower-level team members to develop depth of project execution staff. Review lower-level engineering work or assignments.Responsible for one or more of the following: leading production teams, coordinating multi-discipline activities, and serving as the responsible charge for projects. Establish work plans to be applied to specific projects.Actively coordinate with all other internal and external team members on complex projects. Typically responsible for defining project schedules for single or multiple disciplines.Identify key client interests and drivers on projects. Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate these concerns in project performance.Work to identify future client needs and how to better position the company for future opportunities. May offer additional services to clients and support business development or pursuit activities.Serve as a technical specialist in a broad area of specialization or a narrow but advanced field. Develop and apply advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems. Support multiple projects on complex technical challenges.May be recognized as an industry expert, participate in professional societies, present papers, act as a section lead for a complex specialty area, or serve as an engineering consultant for larger-scale projects.Support senior engineering management and be accountable for discipline-specific engineering processes.Oversee performance management, career planning, recognition, learning and development, and corrective actions.
