This role requires close collaboration with internal design, manufacturing, and project management teams to ensure all aspects of the assigned project are completed On Time - On Budget - Done Right - Done Safely.What does the Senior Electrical Engineer do at SpecSys?Design and verify electrical systems to meet performance and safety requirementsPartner with leadership to ensure projects are completed on time and on budgetCoordinate project teams, provide work instructions, and maintain project timelinesDevelop schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for both AC and DC systemsPerform engineering calculations to ensure system performance, safety, and reliabilitySpecify and source electrical components and materialsGenerate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electrical systemsCollaborate with designers and drafters to ensure drawings are accurate, manufacturable, and meet standardsSupport electrical technicians during system builds with technical documentation and troubleshootingConduct reviews of CAD models and electrical layouts for functionality and accuracyApply knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL, IEC) to designsSupport validation and testing of electrical systems and document resultsProvide technical input during project reviews and design change processesAssist in preparing operation manuals and customer documentationTrack and manage action items, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and project deliverablesParticipate in internal and customer design reviewsMany tasks include their own work and/or the review of work of others in the departmentLeadership skills and the ability to guide other engineersStrong understanding of electrical theory, components, and power systemsProficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentsAbility to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Safety/Quality, and SalesKnowledge of safety standards and design practices for mobile and industrial equipmentExperience with CAD tools for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)BS or MS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology8+ years of in electrical design and engineering, preferably in equipment or machinery manufacturingPHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to move around industrial equipment and shop environmentsMust be able to lift 50 lbs occasionallyAbility to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periodsMany tasks include their own work and/or the review of work of others in the department.
