The Senior Electrical Engineer serves as a key technical contributor on multi-discipline power generation, process, and large industrial projects. This role is responsible for executing detailed electrical engineering design, coordinating closely with project managers and discipline leads, and ensuring technical quality, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.Responsibilities include performing and reviewing electrical system studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination, and grounding analyses to support project feasibility, detailed design, and system reliability. The Senior Electrical Engineer applies advanced electrical engineering principles to complex systems, supports development of scopes of work and execution plans, and translates analytical results into practical, constructible solutions.This position also provides technical direction and mentoring to junior engineers and designers while supporting integrated, multi-discipline project execution.This position reports to the Manager of Engineering and President of PPS.Essential Job FunctionsPerform detailed electrical engineering design for power generation, process, and large industrial facilities, and power distribution systems.Prepare, review, and check electrical design deliverables such as one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, equipment layouts, schematics, grounding and lighting plans, and engineering calculations.Execute and support electrical system studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, grounding, and protection coordination.Prepare or support the preparation of construction documents for new installations and modifications of existing electrical systems.Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and client requirements.Provide leadership, guidance, instruction, and mentorship to junior team membersDevelop equipment specifications and provide technical procurement support, including witnessing factory acceptance testing for electrical equipmentKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license is requiredMinimum 8 years of related experienceExperience in power generating facilities, process facilities, and/or large industrial facilities including the following design types, is strongly preferred: medium voltage, low voltage, lighting, grounding, electrical equipment control, protective relaying and associated systems design and construction administration.Strong technical background in medium- and low-voltage systems, grounding, lighting, protective relaying, and construction administration.Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.Working knowledge of electrical codes, standards, rules, and regulationsSoftware experience utilizing Aeries CARS, SKM Power Tools, ETAP, SmartPlant, SmartPlant Electrical, or similar software is preferred.Field construction and commissioning experience is preferred.Excellent written & verbal communications as well as strong analytical & problem-solving skills are required.Positive attitude with team-player mindsetValid Driver's licenseBenefits and Additional DetailsCompetitive and comprehensive compensation package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage for employee and family401(k) program with employer match up to 4%Generous paid time off, in addition to sick leave.7 company holidays and family-oriented employee activitiesLaid-back work environment in Midtown KC office spaceEmployee Referral Bonus programJob Level: SeniorEmployment Type: Full-TimePay: DOEDesignation: Hybrid (in-office 4 days a week with WFH Friday)Travel: Up to 10%, as needed for client/ site visits#J-18808-Ljbffr
