Senior Electrical Engineer – Greenville, South CarolinaGarver is seeking a mid‑to‑senior level Electrical Engineer to join the Water Design Center in Greenville, SC. The role supports water and wastewater projects, providing hands‑on design work, client interaction, mentorship, project management, and marketing initiatives.ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed electrical power distribution designs for water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution systems, and wastewater collection systems.Design standby power generation, motor starting, lighting systems, one‑line diagrams, power plans, grounding, lightning protection, and lighting plans for industrial facilities.Coordinate with instrumentation, control engineers, and other disciplines to meet project requirements.Coordinate with electrical equipment vendors, regional Garver offices, and regulatory agencies.Prepare design calculations, construction cost estimates, quality assurance and control, schedule coordination, and budget monitoring.Perform electrical design standards and tool development, procurement, and training.Conduct power system studies, short‑circuit analysis, overcurrent coordination, and arc flash studies.Conduct on‑site client advisement for electrical issues and improvements.Maintain team attitude, interpersonal effectiveness, and facilitate team collaboration.QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field from an ABET‑accredited program.6+ years of direct design experience, 15+ years for senior level.Registered Professional Engineer (PE).Technical competence in power distribution, standby power, and related systems.Experience overseeing electrical designs for industrial facilities, detailed plans and specifications.Field experience in technical electrical problem resolution.Understanding of water and wastewater treatment plant systems.Experience with power system studies including short‑circuit analysis, overcurrent coordination, and arc flash.Demonstrated ability to design low‑ and medium‑voltage power distribution systems.Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong teaching and coaching skills.Preferred SkillsWater and wastewater consulting experience.Working knowledge of power system modeling software.Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit CAD programs.Experience with instrumentation and controls, SCADA design.Experience with SKM PowerTools for Windows and EasyPower.About Garver's Water Design CenterThe Water Design Center is a knowledge‑based hub excelling in highly technical, multi‑discipline water and wastewater designs across Garver's footprint.
