Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer IV plays a key role in the planning, design, and execution of electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. This position requires a seasoned professional capable of producing and reviewing high-quality construction documents, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring technical excellence throughout the design process.

You will be a hands-on leader who coordinates with mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines to deliver comprehensive solutions to our clients. This role offers the opportunity to direct complex projects, engage with clients nationwide, and serve as a technical mentor and quality champion within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce complete electrical design documents consistent with project scope, budget, and schedule.

  • Oversee the electrical engineering design process from concept through construction administration.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and industry standards.

  • Conduct load calculations, short-circuit studies, and lighting and power distribution designs.

  • Coordinate electrical design elements with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers and CAD/Revit drafters, promoting knowledge sharing and technical growth.

  • Perform site visits and punch lists to verify design implementation and resolve field issues.

  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and client communications with professionalism and clarity.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and client experience.

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive electrical engineering experience in building design.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.

  • Strong knowledge of building codes, NFPA, NEC, and energy standards.

  • Experience preparing construction documents and performing QA/QC reviews.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and mentorship skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • Multi-sector experience (commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, hospitality).

  • Experience leading multi-discipline design teams and managing client relationships.

Travel: Occasional (0–10%) for site visits and inter-office collaboration.
