This will include drawing of circuits using a schematic CAD tool (Cadence OrCAD or Altium) along with simulation as appropriate using tools such as SPICE or HyperLynx.Conduct design analysis on electrical circuits ensuring designs will operate reliably across the required range of operating conditionsGather technical data and prepare technical documents such as design verification test reports, written rework instructions, PCB placement and routing guidelines and Analysis of Alternatives documentsMaintain organized history of design artifacts utilizing a version control system and/or like toolsComplete assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelinesCommunicate with other engineers and supervising project managers to coordinate and assure project completionPrepare proposal documentation based on customer specificationsContribute to electrical design best practicesMentor electrical engineersnd finding suitable alternatesAssist in developing ECOs and route them for needed approvals.Essential Responsibilities of all Beacon EmbeddedWorks employeesSupport, demonstrate and drive our core valuesLead, don't followConsistently deliverNever stand stillCreate relationships not transactionsInteract positively and professionally with all employees and customersMaintain reliable attendancePerform work safely and adhere to all safety requirementsComplete required training as scheduledPerform other duties as assignedJob QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent8+ years experience in product design, pay and title commensurate with experienceExperience with embedded systems and microprocessor based designExperience with functional aspects of product design including: requirements understanding, general electrical design analysis and documentation creation, design for manufacturing/design for test, and design verificationExperience working in teams including engineers from multiple engineering disciplinesWorking knowledge of oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and vector network analyzersProtocol-level knowledge of serial interfaces including SPI, I2C, CAN and UARTExperience with MS Office productsAbility to work with both internal and external (customer) resourcesAble to work in a fast paced environment with quickly changing priorities to ensure superior customer satisfactionHigh-speed digital interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, SATA, etc.RF communications such as Bluetooth, 802.11a/b/g/n, Zigbee, GSM, CDMA or similarRFID system experience using either active or passive tagsExposure to medical device design, aerospace design or other regulated industries is an added advantageAnalog design concepts and design tools such as SPICE and HyperLynxOther ConsiderationsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
