Senior Electrical Engineer – Birmingham, AlabamaJoin Dewberry's MEPS team as a Senior Electrical Engineer, providing technical guidance, training, and mentorship on all electrical engineering aspects of projects while collaborating across disciplines to meet client objectives and budgets.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all electrical engineering work.Offer technical training and development of staff.Assist in establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for the electrical discipline.Act as Engineer of Record.Deliver on‑the‑spot advice, technical decisions, and cost estimates.Coordinate with all involved disciplines, including outside consultants.Serve as technical interface with code officials and contractors.Required Skills & ExperienceLicensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within six (6) months.Accomplished electrical engineer with a proven track record.7+ years of progressive technical experience in designing power distribution, multiple generator powerhouses, multi‑building medium‑voltage campus distribution, fault studies, selective overcurrent coordination studies, load flow studies, arc flash studies, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems on healthcare and commercial projects.Demonstrated management of multiple projects with technical oversight that meet contract specifications and client expectations on time and within budget.Self‑motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.Well organized and takes good notes.At Dewberry, we do not sponsor new applicants for work authorization.Do not meet every single requirement?
