As part of our BMS Hardware & Electrical System team, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of industrial control panel design—from component selection and schematic development through vendor coordination and high‑voltage validation. You will work cross‑functionally with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to deliver panels that meet the highest safety and compliance standards. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast‑moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!ResponsibilitiesDesign the control panel panels in compliance with NEC (NFPA 70) and UL 508A standardsDevelop complete control panel schematic, layout and BOM using EPLANSelect appropriate control panel components including connectors, wire harnesses, branch circuit protection devices (breakers, fuses), and power conversion devices (drives, transformers, rectifiers)Select components rated for 600V AC and 2000V DC high‑voltage applicationsWork directly with third‑party panel vendors to translate design intent into built assemblies. Execute and oversee high‑voltage testing procedures including hipot, insulation resistance, and functional validationCollaborate with mechanical engineers on panel enclosure selection, thermal management, and physical integrationSupport DFMEA activities for panel‑level failure mode identification and risk mitigationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experienceProficiency in panel design SW EPLAN or equivalentDemonstrated experience designing panels to NEC and UL 508A requirementsHands‑on experience in testing with high‑voltage testing procedures and associated safety protocolsStrong working knowledge of branch protection coordination, wire sizing, and power conversion device integrationExperience managing third‑party panel fabrication vendors through design, build, and acceptance phasesFamiliarity with the SW including PLM (e.g. Arena or Team Center), product development SW (e.g. JIRA) and requirement management tools (e.g. JAMA)Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environmentSalary Range$115,000–130,000The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job‑related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experienceAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, genetic information, or pregnancy.Compliance Notice: Alten USA is a federal contractor subject to the requirements of the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Executive Order 11246.
