Position Overview

Are you ready to transition from technical execution to a defining leadership role within the Central Texas water resources landscape? We are seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to steer our Water Resources team and architect sustainable infrastructure solutions for the region’s fastest-growing municipalities. In this role, you aren’t just managing runoff; you are a strategic partner to city and county agencies, responsible for the technical integrity and financial success of high-stakes flood mitigation and watershed management programs.

Joining our team means stepping into a culture built on 25 years of responsiveness and technical excellence. We offer a sophisticated, family-oriented environment where your expertise in Central Texas hydrology directly shapes the safety and resilience of communities from Austin to San Antonio. With a private headquarters featuring premium amenities and a clear path toward executive leadership, this is the premier platform for a seasoned engineer to build a lasting professional legacy.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Direct and mentor a high-performing Water Resources team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and professional growth.

  • Project Stewardship: Architect project sequencing and WBS systems from inception to completion, ensuring every milestone is achieved with technical precision and fiscal health.

  • Watershed Innovation: Lead the planning, analysis, and design of complex stormwater systems, stream restorations, and regional water quality controls for major Texas municipalities.

  • Agency Liaison: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients and regulatory agencies, expertly navigating Municipal and County application processes and FEMA Flood Insurance Mapping.

  • Collaborative Integration: Synchronize efforts across multidisciplinary teams, including CAD, marketing, and finance, to deliver seamless project execution and win new pursuits.

  • Technical Authority: Oversee the preparation of comprehensive plans, specifications, cost estimates (PS&E), and permits for both preliminary and final designs.

  • Business Intelligence: Partner with executive leadership on fee proposals, project forecasting, and invoicing strategies to maintain the firm’s robust operational health.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related technical field.

  • Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas (minimum 3+ years).

  • Experience: 10+ years of modeling and drainage design experience (or 8 years with an M.S.).

  • Software Proficiency: Advanced command of 1D/2D modeling software, Microstation, OpenRoads Drainage, GEOPAK Drainage, and Storm and Sanitary.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience acting as a design lead or project manager on municipal civil engineering projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Local Expertise: Established project history with the City of Austin, Travis County, Bexar County, San Antonio River Authority (SARA), or SAWS.

  • Certifications: TxDOT Pre-certifications in relevant hydraulic and drainage categories.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to convey complex technical data during high-pressure interviews and public presentations.
