Northrop Grumman Corporate Office is currently seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Director of Learning & Development to lead training and professional development for our Business Development organization.
Located in Falls Church, VA , in this high-impact role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing targeted training and development programs for Business Development and Capture professionals across the company as they advance in their careers. You will be responsible for assessing the impact of this training over time, ensuring that both materials and methods remain relevant, and supporting our teams to effectively capture profitable growth opportunities in defense, intelligence, and national security sectors across the globe.
This role requires proven expertise in learning and development combined with strong project management, change management, communication skills; and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a large, matrixed organization.
Key Responsibilities
+ _Partner_ with senior leaders across Business Development, Capture, Operations, Strategy, Human Resources, and other Functional and Program leads to identify skill gaps, learning objectives, and business impact objectives.
+ _Design_ training and development programs aligned to Northrop Grumman Learning & Development process and frameworks that address skill gaps, elevate employee experience, establish professional certifications for career paths, and drive Northrop Grumman standards and best practices.
+ _Develop_ training and development programs to drive Northrop Grumman standards and best practices, align with current customer acquisition strategies, and result in improved business development and capture acumen for both domestic and international teammates.
+ _Implement_ training and development programs, manage course delivery, track completion and/or certifications, and train and evaluate trainers where appropriate.
+ _Support_ individuals and teams to help implement and adopt new skills and processes.
+ _Assess_ the impact of this training over time for the business and the individuals.
+ _Ensure_ materials are updated to remain relevant to current acquisition environments and NG Standards, and delivery methods evolve to optimize effective receipt including but not limited to self-paced/on-demand, micro-learning, in-person, digital, peer/citizen and instructor-led.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Education, Business, or related field.
+ Minimum of 12 years of experience in learning and development, talent development, or project management roles within a large corporate/organizational setting.
+ Proven success designing and delivering training programs at scale for U.S. government contracting and defense environments for both domestic and international acquisition.
+ Familiarity with the DoD 5000 series, FAR/DFARS, and capture/proposal best practices such as Shipley or industry equivalents.
+ Familiarity with international FMS and DCS business processes, engagement, acquisitions and contracting.
+ PMP, CPLP/CPTD, or equivalent certifications.
+ Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills with the ability to engage and impact executive audiences.
+ Experience managing teams and external vendors to deliver a range of instructional formats (virtual, in-person, secure facility, asynchronous).
+ Proficiency with learning management systems, instructional design tools, and content authoring platforms.
+ Ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s degree in Business, Organizational Development, Education, or related field
+ At least 5 years of direct experience supporting a federal Business Development and Capture function, with strong knowledge of DoD, IC, or civilian agency procurement processes.
+ Familiarity with Business Development, Capture, Proposal, CRM, and Market Assessment tools.
+ Active Secret or higher clearance
Salary Range: $235,000.00 - $352,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
