Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist and Specification Writer to join our Food Safety & Quality team. This hybrid role combines analytical chemistry expertise with specification authorship and facilitation. The successful candidate will be responsible for Welch's lab compliance program, including development of methods, troubleshooting, and needed training.   The position will also facilitate the creation, maintenance, and training of manufacturing, packaging, and food safety & quality specifications that meet regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.

This role will be based out of our Waltham, MA headquarters where you will be immersed in a dynamic workplace where innovation thrives and collaboration is key. 

Our company in-office schedule is designed to maximize collaboration & relationship building balanced with flexibility and well-being with 3 days in office and Thursdays/Friday being remote, flex days.

What You'll Do:

 Analytical Chemistry (60%)

  • Develop, validate, and maintain laboratory test methods in compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Lead laboratory compliance program assuring consistent analytical results from all plant and corporate labs with demonstrated supporting documentation.    Includes verification and audit program needs to ensure.
  • Provide leadership across labs to maintain needed capability for business and operations.
  • Interpret test results, prepare reports, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis related to analytical methods and equipment.
  • Ensure laboratory practices align with GLP, GMP, and FSMA requirements.
  • Provide systems support for enterprise tools that are used through the FSQ Teams to support activities.   These include but not limited to: Hygiena ATP software, SPC software, sanitation/audit software.

Specification Writing & Facilitation (40%)

  • Facilitate creation and maintenance of specifications / technical documentation by gathering data from subject matter experts.  Develop standardized, consistent, easy to find documents that are foundation of company processes and procedures.
  • Reconcile discrepancies through working sessions with stakeholders.
  • Author, review, and maintain manufacturing, packaging, and food safety & quality specifications.  Position may evolve to include finished product and raw materials documentation.
  • Communicate updates and deliver training on specifications to impacted stakeholders.
  • Ensure specifications meet FDA, USDA, FSMA, Codex, and customer standards.
  • Manage specification updates in electronic systems of record.
  • Act as subject matter expert during audits and customer inquiries. 

Who You Are: 

  • A strong, organized project manager with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver projects on time with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation, strong lab skills with demonstrated ability to run methods, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • An individual with a foundation of food safety & quality, ideally with some plant experience.
  • Understanding of HACCP, PCI, FSMA, GFSI audit schemes, Food Defense and Policy & Procedure development.
  • A strong technical trainer.
  • A driver of change who can lead and influence others within and outside of the organization
  • Technically curious with the ability to translate insights into action and can think beyond the immediate to look at secondary consequences of standards and methods.
  • A strong team player who can develop positive relationships across facilities and overall company. 

What You'll Need:

  • S. required in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology or related science.
  • 3 - 5 years combined experience in laboratory method work, corporate food safety or R&D, Plant Quality Assurance, and/or Plant Operations.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, PCQI, GFSI certification, FSMA and Food Defense in branded food products industry.
  • Understanding of plant operations as it relates to product, ingredients, packaging, and food safety & quality with experience in plant quality and food safety management.
  • Strong written communication skills with ability to develop documentation that is easy to understand, train on, and communicate across all levels.
  • Ability to travel 10 - 15%

The Director of Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) at Welch's is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of all FSQ programs to ensure the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of our products. This role leads corporate FSQ initiatives, drives continuous improvement, and partners cross-functionally to embed a culture of food safety and quality across the business and supply chain. The Director will also manage the FSQ corporate team and play a critical role in shaping future policies, systems, and supplier partnerships.

What You'll Do:

Food Safety & Quality Programs

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of FSQ policies and procedures to ensure product safety, quality, and compliance with all regulatory and customer standards.
  • Support compliance with SQF, HACCP, FSMA, and related food safety certification and regulatory audit requirements.

Packaging & Ingredient Quality

  • Own the Packaging and Ingredient Quality Programs, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, regulatory expectations, and internal quality targets.
  • Lead resolution of ingredient or packaging-related issues, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Conduct on-site supplier audits and manage risk assessments, documentation, and supplier performance scorecards.

System & Process Oversight

  • Oversee FSQ documentation systems, laboratory compliance, and integration of IT/enterprise systems that support quality management and traceability.
  • Drive digital transformation and system improvements to enhance decision making with improved data and drive overall efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with R&D, Engineering, and Operations to align processes and requirements with ingredients, packaging, product, and processing specifications to support consistent execution.  
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for food safety and quality at manufacturing sites as needed to ensure the highest quality and safest food reaches our consumers and customers.
  • Serve as a key advisor on FSQ risk assessments and design to ensure safe and high-quality product.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships across the organization to align FSQ priorities with business objectives.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Coach and develop FSQ team members to strengthen organizational capability and foster a high-performance, quality-driven culture.

  • 8 - 10 years combined experience in Corporate Food Safety or Quality Assurance, Plant Quality Assurance, and Plant Operations with demonstrated expertise managing food safety and quality initiatives in branded food products industry
  • B.S. required and preferred in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or Microbiology
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, statistical process control, GMPs, CIP, sanitary design, and total quality management principles or techniques
  • Ability to travel 25% to 30% travel (project based, primarily domestic)

POSTION SUMMARY:

We're looking for a Director of Treasury to help shape and scale our finance organization during a period of growth and increasing complexity. This role is ideal for a finance leader who thrives on partnering across the business to evaluate drive working capital improvements, modelling out cash flow scenarios and working with lenders to finance our growth needs.

You'll be primarily responsible for the company's cash and liquidity, owning banking relationships, working capital, and shared service finance operations. What You'll Do: 

  • Lead enterprise cash management, liquidity planning, and cash flow forecasting
  • Optimize working capital across AP, AR, and inventory-related cash cycles
  • Own banking relationships, including credit facilities, fees, and treasury services
  • Manage loan administration, covenant compliance, and related reporting
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and grower payment processes
  • Maintain strong treasury controls, policies, and segregation of duties
  • Partner with the Controller to support audits and compliance
  • Collaborate with the entire finance team on forecasts, growth initiatives, and operational planning
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing treasury and transactional finance teams

Position Overview:

We are looking for an Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join our Maintenance department at our Welch's Lawton, MI Plant. The Maintenance Electrician will perform electrical maintenance for all automation/controls, plant production, and processing equipment. You will contribute to and impact the total efficiency and productivity of our facility.

Pay rate starts at $36.58 

Where You'll Work

This role will be based out of our 24/7 manufacturing facility in Lawton, MI.

What You'll Do:

  • Install, test, repair, and maintain electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment in a food processing plant
  • Perform PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance and support plant projects

Electrical

  • Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams (both construction and schematic)
  • Install conduit, wiring, control panels, control wiring and control centers
  • Install, repair, and service automatic control devices such as sensors, photo-electric equipment, proximity switches, etc.
  • Effectively troubleshoot and repair complex circuitry
  • Perform all phases of preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and controls

Electronic

  • Read and interpret electronic schematics
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuitry
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment such as ground fault systems and recorders/controllers
  • Program, troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers; Understand PLC ladder logic

 

Who You Are:

  • Safety focused with a proven ability to safely work on and around complex, highly automated machinery
  • A collaborative team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled in troubleshooting Electrical, PLC, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, Motion Control, and mechanical systems
  • Experience in food manufacturing desired
  • Proactive and able to work independently
  • Able to work all shifts in a 24x 7 operation

 

What You'll Need:

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing (food manufacturing preferred)
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school can substitute for work experience
  • Experience with electrical, PLC, and electronic systems; troubleshooting and repair skills required
  • Ability to work safely and independently in a 24/7 operation
  • Formal training in electrical, instrumentation, or process control is required
  • Applicant must pass our standard testing in maintenance and electrical

  • Demonstrated ability to safely work on and around complex, highly automated machinery in a non-temperature regulated environment. Strong troubleshooting, verbal and written communication skills to effectively present to other maintenance supervisors, technicians, and operators.
  • Cross-functional demonstrated skills in Electrical, PLC, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, motion control, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience in food manufacturing strongly preferred, Lean and Six Sigma a plus.

  • Promote and ensure the safety and quality of Welch's products by performing daily, weekly, and monthly reviews and audits of production areas and activities. Auditing and reviewing of employee performance, HACCP and Food Safety paperwork, Time and Attendance, SOP's, GMPs, and more.
  • Supervise production personnel in the accomplishment of packaging objectives, while driving a culture of employee engagement.
  • Provide planning and direction to employees in daily operations of the department. This includes; assigning responsibilities, coordinating work efforts, removing obstacles, monitoring performance, and driving for success.
  • Lead cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Need

The anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 annually for US-based employees. This range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position across all US locations, is based on a full-time work schedule, and is Welch's good faith estimate as of the date of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for participation in a bonus plan.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Operates manufacturing equipment to produce high quality food and beverage products in a safe and effective manner.

Produces documentation to verify safety, quality and production standards are met.

Moves, organizes, and stages ingredients, work in process and finished goods.

 

Pay rate starts at $24.43 / hour!

 

Where You'll Work

This role will be based out of our 24/7 manufacturing facility in Grandview, WA.

What You'll Do:

Operates equipment to achieve department objectives.

Observes operations and assures that schedules are being met and that quality standards are maintained.

Submits reports summarizing daily production operations.

Inspects and tests production line set-ups to insure proper operation of all equipment.

Requests maintenance to equipment as required.

Checks production equipment daily to determine that it has been cleaned properly.

Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of production facilities.

Maintains acceptable levels of housekeeping and sanitation within department.

Responsible for adherence to the Plant Safety Program and safety protocols.

Assures that adequate quantities of production supplies and ingredients are available to meet current and planned production schedules.

Other duties as assigned.

 

What You'll Need:

Willing and able to work various shifts in a 24x7 operation.

Working conditions require moderate to frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.

Working condition will be hot/cold environments, inside/outside working conditions, with exposure to cleaning solutions.

A High School diploma or equivalent, with a 2-year college degree or technical training certificate strongly preferred.

Above average level of mechanical aptitude strongly preferred.

Minimum of one year of experience in a food and beverage manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Must be able to climb stairs, work at elevated levels and wear all required personal protective equipment.

Solid record of safety and continuous improvement in an industrial setting.
