About the job

The YouTube Music app is revolutionizing how fans engage with and enjoy the world"s music and integrate it into their daily lives. We are bringing the industry's best music understanding and recommendations to fans on mobile, in their cars, on their TVs and speakers, and all the other devices they listen on.

The Music team is also responsible for driving the success of music and podcasts throughout the YouTube ecosystem, connecting fans with the music and podcasts they love and helping artists and podcasters find fame and fortune on the platform. We are building innovative new community and interactive features to build even deeper connections, including generative AI features to help explore the catalog and Lyria for music generation.

As Senior Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for end-to-end technical leadership and execution for the YouTube Music and Podcasts team. You will set the strategic and technical direction for how we build the best discovery and consumption experiences for viewers around the world. As a key part of the cross-functional Subscriptions leadership team, you will contribute to our overall Subscriptions strategy across Music, Premium, and TV. You will also work closely with industry partners (i.e., Music Labels and Publishers, Artists and Songwriters, Podcasters) to support their needs and grow in the YouTube ecosystem.

At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun - and we do it all together.
