Job Description

The Senior Director, Business Systems is responsible for building and strengthening relationships with key senior leaders across one or more functional areas across the North American Commercial (NAC) Vertex Patient Support Teams (PST) and acting as a key business partner for these peers, colleagues and executives. This role leads the Business Systems Team in our North America Commercial Patient Support Center of Excellence (PS COE) and reports into the Executive Director of the PS COE. The incumbent will also lead a team responsible for design, development, support, maintenance and future roadmap of systems, platforms and data solutions on behalf of these NAC PST business partners. The incumbent will also collaborate with the Data, Technology and Engineering counterparts as well as peers within the NAC to identify, prioritize and deliver technology solutions in support of business strategies, goals and objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders - become a trusted partner and have an ongoing, significant impact towards meeting strategic business goals with technology
  • Partner with key business stakeholders to manage and prioritize their technology portfolio and continually build the future roadmap
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of NAC PST product owners and business system directors, managers, and analysts
  • Partner with PST COE Leader to co-create and implement COE mission, vision and roadmap.
  • Oversee a portfolio of projects, programs, releases and system enhancements, ensuring quality and timeliness of delivery while remaining within allocated budget limits
  • Manage budget for the PST COE systems team to ensure flawless operation of the team
  • Proactively offer innovative technologies, solution ideas, and potential business process improvements in pursuit of driving efficiencies and meeting business objectives
  • Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for a large portfolio of applications and technology platforms, ensuring maximum uptime and high performance to ensure quality patient interactions for the NAC PST
  • Work closely with the Center of Excellence (COE) Program Quality Team to ensure compliance with key regulations
  • Collaborate and direct DTE counterparts in expectations for managing relationships with strategic software vendors and service providers for NAC PSTs
  • As a people manager within the organization, has financial accountabilities and human resource responsibilities for assigned staff.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
  • Expert understanding of modern Information Technology – Salesforce, cloud computing, DevOps, Agile methodologies, cybersecurity
  • Substantial program/ project management, demand/ resource management, and system life cycle expertise
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Superior people management skills and proven success in building/ developing high-performing teams
  • Significant depth of experience with large-scale system implementations, upgrades, and ongoing enhancements
  • Proven ability to run operational support and maintenance of large technology environments effectively and efficiently
  • Significant experience running IT managed services or outsourced/ offshore teams
  • Significant experience working in highly regulated industries
  • Experience in leading new product launches for patient support

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology discipline or equivalent
  • Typically requires 15 years of experience as a leader in information technology or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay Range:

$220,000 - $330,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
